Whistleblower Agency Case Results
The IRS Whistleblower Agency is a branch of the IRS that will "process tips received from individuals, who spot tax problems in their workplace, while conducting day-to-day personal business or anywhere else they may be encountered." It was established in 2006 to ensure that proper tax reporting was being conducted in business. Whistleblowers are rewarded generously by the IRS, receiving up to 30% of the proceeds collected from the IRS from business, individuals, foundations, trust, and/or estates who are not abiding to their IRS tax responsibilities.
Managing Partner, Kevin E. Thorn, and the experienced tax attorneys of Thorn Law Group have helped a number of clients come forward to this agency as “whistleblowers” with information about tax related crimes in the businesses, foundations, trust and/or estates they are involved in. It can be intimidating to come forward to this agency, and Mr. Thorn acknowledges that there are very specific risks whistleblowers face, including being investigated themselves. Mr. Thorn can facilitate an interaction with the IRS Whistleblower Agency and protect you from potential scrutiny by the IRS.
